HydraPak Hydration Systems Seeker 2 L is a pretty fancy name for what we're gong to call a water bag. Because basically, that's what the Seeker 2 L is. But, as we found while using it on a recent crabbing foray into the South River, in many ways its better than the usual plastic bottle. Before we tell you why, here's a quick peek at the Seeker 2 L and some other HydraPak products, in a short video we shot at the ICAST fishing tackle show.
Now that you've heard the manufacturer's take, we'll tell you our opinion. First off, we like the idea of moving towards reusable items like the Seeker 2 L as opposed to continuing to trash the world with more plastic bottles. Secondly, we like the flexible nature of this water bag, which can be scrunched up and stuffed into a small storage bag that fits right into your pocket once you've drained it. Third, we like that you can fill and freeze it.The thermoplastic polyurethane (BPA and PVC-free) feels plenty sturdy, and should stand up to extended jostling in the cooler.
What didn't we like? Drinking out of a flexible bladder like this takes some getting used to, as it flops around while you're tipping back. The $18 MSRP also strikes us as a bit on the steep side, though we do note that it seems competitive with other high-end water bags. Beyond these factors there's really not a whole lot to talk about. As you may have guessed from the name the 2 L holds two liters, and there's also a one liter version with a three liter version coming in 2018. For more info, check out HydraPak.
